How do you pin a boutonniere, you ask? Well, first you need a flower and a pin. There will usually be a leaf on the boutonniere, place the leaf behind the flower and put the flower high up on the lapel, over the buttonhole if there is one. Once the boutonniere is in the appropriate place take the pin and, coming in from behind the lapel, stick the pin into the boutonniere stem and back into the lapel. Make sure you can’t see the pin once you’re finished; a visible pin can cause a glare in photos.
What if a groomsman accidentally breaks the bud off a boutonniere? No problem! You can quickly fix it by pushing a pin through the center of the bud and into the stem.
